Vatican’s interfaith dialogue body had sent Diwali greetings to Hindus all over the world. In the message Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran had asked the Hindus to work in collaboration with Christians for sustainable development. The Cardinal said that it if peace has to be maintained in the world, everyone must work together protecting the nature, defending the poor and by building a bond of respect and fraternity.
“May your celebrations across the globe lead you to an experience of happiness and harmony in your families and communities,” said the Cardinal in the message. “May we Hindus and Christians, together with people of all religious traditions and good will, always foster a culture which promotes human ecology,” he emphasized in the message.
This year Diwali, the festival of lights symbolizing the victory of truth over the dark, would be on November 11.
