Vatican develops new sex education course for young people

Vatican City: Vatican recently developed a new sex education course to help out parents and educators to talk to teens about sex and to give the right answers for the messages on social media.

The course published by the Vatican Council for the Family titled, “The Meeting Point: The Adventure of Love.” It aims to encourage a dialogue between young people and their parents and teachers on sexuality.

The development of the new course was the first step towards answering the problems of the corrosion of marriage and family bond, pointed out at the Sept. 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia and the Oct. 2015 Vatican Synod on the Family.

“One of the most delicate tasks that parents have to face in the education of their children is their emotional formation, so they can respond to the most decisive vocation for every human being: the vocation to love,” wrote President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, Archbishop Vincent Paglia.

At present the course is available on the website www.affectiveformation.org in five different languages including English and Spanish.
