The Joseph Ratzinger-Benedict XVI Vatican Foundation announced the winners of 2016 Ratzinger Prize. Inos Biffi and Ioannis Kourempeles became the winners.
Mgr. Biffi, an internationally acclaimed liturgist, theologian and professor was ordained in 1957. He has penned hundreds of books and essays and even received an award for his Opera Omnia, a collection of theology and medieval philosophy.
Ioannis Kourempeles, a faculty of Theology in Thessaloniki, Greece is the other winner. He is a member of the Orthodox Church, and serves as an associate professor in the Department of Theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Both would receive their awards on November 26th at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. The Ratzinger Benedict XVI award is usually given to scholars and professors who work in theological field as a token of Church’s gratitude.
