Vacation Bible School in Syria brightens the life of Syrian Children

For children growing up in Aleppo, Syria, life is not that easy. They live in the valley of death in the face of frequent bombing, in a city devastated by civil war. But for 350 young children in the city, Vacation Bible School is the place where they could experience peace.

They gather in the school under the motto “Be merciful as our Father is merciful,” to pray for their country and for the conversion of jihadists.

“We’re not afraid because every day we challenge the bombs and death with our joy of living,” said Father Firas Lutfi. Presently he is in charge of the Vacation Bible School situated in the Saint Francis Roman rite parish in Aleppo. The Bible School accommodates children ranging the age from 3 to 15.
