The diocese of Wa in Ghana receives its new Bishop

RV13506_ArticoloPope Francis appointed Father Richard Kuuia Baawobr as the new Bishop of the diocese of Wa in Ghana. The appointment came as the Pope had accepted the resignation presented by Bishop Paul Bemile.

Father Richard Baawobr, the newly elected Bishop was born in Nandom-Lawra, Ghana. In 1979, he entered the diocesan major seminary of St. Victor in Tamale. After finishing his studies in Philosophy, he joined the Society of Missionaries of Africa. Later in 1987, was ordained as a priest.

He had held many posts while serving as a priest. He was even elected as the 1st Assistant General of the Society of Missionaries of Africa. Currently he was serving as the Superior General of the Society of Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers).
