Anti-Christian move assumes its intense form in Pakistan, a country already notorious for curtailing religious freedom. As per the latest developments, sending a text message with the name ‘Jesus’ included in it is blasphemous in Pakistan.
“We cannot say in any way, shape or form that Jesus is the Son of God, not even through text message” said Fr. Gilbert Gil, a native of Pakistan. The country has been using its blasphemy law to target Christians in recent years. Sometimes ever innocent Christians were accused and punished.
“A law that allows injustice is the worst. It is such a contradiction,” says Msgr. Enrico Dal Covolo, Rector of Pontifical Lateran University Rector.
