Pope Francis, during his weekly catechesis on family, urged the parents to teach their children to pray. He was addressing the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square for weekly general audience. Pope was concentrating on the importance of teaching children how to love God through prayer.
“It is beautiful when mothers teach their little children to blow a kiss to Jesus or to Our Lady. What tenderness there is in this”, adds Pope. “In that moment the child’s heart is transformed into a place of prayer. And this is a gift of the Holy Spirit”, says Pope.
Pope lamented on children who don’t know to make the sign of the cross. Pope advised parents by saying that when children began to utter “daddy” and “mummy”, they should be taught to pray.
