Regents Park Catholic Loretta Anderson firmly believes that everything will be possible when the apt time arises. As it is told in the Bible, there is a time for everything, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot. Now it is Ms Anderson’s time. It is her time to publish 471 hymns which was gathering dust during these 32 years on a shelf of her home office.
Ms Anderson began composing songs during the painful days of her life. Her father left the family and started living with another woman, while Anderson was a child. It was through her mother that she attained the present position. Her mother used to put on concert and Anderson attended them.
Ms Anderson believes that heavenly inspiration prompted her to write hymns. In 1982 she penned her first hymn which paved the way for her entry into the Catholic Church leaving Anglican Church. Her husband was hospitalized and she was sitting in one of the properties that she had. The ripples in the nearby water source prompted her to write the first song which was an Easter song.
Anderson had tried to publish her songs. But she had neglected grant from the Brisbane archdiocese to publish her songs. After 31 years she believes that the right time has arrived to publish the works. “I believe now is the time, doors seem to be just open now, and I have young people helping me now.”
