Pope to ordain Tulsa native as bishop of Marcianopolis

Dove_window_St_Peters_Basilica__8504106313-740x493Pope Francis announced the date on which Monsignor Peter Bryan Wells, the apostolic nuncio in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia would be ordained as a Bishop.

The Office for Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff announced that on March 19, at 10 a.m. the Holy Father would confer Episcopal ordination on Wells and also on Msgr. Miguel Angel Ayuso Guixot, M.C.C.J., secretary of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.

Monsignor Wells serves as the clergy of the Diocese of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on 12 May in Tulsa and was ordained as a priest on July 12 1991. In 9 February 2016 he was appointed as the titular archbishop of Marcianopolis.

Monsignor Ayuso serves as a priest in the Institute of the Combonian Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus. He was born on 17 June 1952 in Seville, Spain. On 20 September 1980 he was ordained as a priest and on 29 January 2016, appointed as the titular bishop of Luperciania.
