Pope opens new Lenten pastoral effort on social media

ashesThe Prelature of the Pontifical Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii stirred up for a new spark in the social media exclusively for the season of lent. The Prelature’s youth ministry office had reported that many people from Italy and around the world including the United States were responding positively to the new effort.

Pope Francis would be the inaugural contributor to the Lenten pastoral effort. The initiative would begin on Ash Wednesday. It would provide a daily Gospel reading and commentary from leading clergymen and lay catechists.

Pope had already told in his 2016 Lenten message that “the digital world is a public square, a meeting-place where we can either encourage or demean one another, engage in a meaningful discussion or unfair attacks,” and had encouraged the Catholics to make good use of the God’s gifts.
