Pope meets with Mark Zuckerberg at the Vatican

Vatican City: Pope Francis on Monday met with Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder and CEO of Facebook at the Vatican.

The Holy Father and Zuckerberg, along with his wife Priscilla Chan “spoke of how to use communication technologies to alleviate poverty, encourage the culture of encounter and bring a message of hope, especially to the most disadvantaged” revealed an August 29 communiqué from the Vatican.

The meeting was informal and was held in the Santa Marta residence, the guest house in Vatican City where the Pope lives. The Pontiff’s meeting with Zuckerberg and Chan marked the fourth time he met with a major tech head this year.
