Pope Francis becomes PETA Person of the Year

According to the findings of PETA, Pope Francis had asked the world’s 1.2 Catholics and people belonging to other religion to respect the environment and to treat animals with kindness.

“With more than a billion Catholics worldwide, Pope Francis’ animal-friendly teachings have a massive audience,” said Ingrid Newkirk, PETA managing director. Morrissey, Brian May, Tony Benn, and Ricky Gervais were the other persons who became the Person of the Year before Pope Francis.
