A Filipino priest surprised Pope Francis with a miniature lookalike doll that was made in the Philippines. In return the Pope surprised the priest by calling him Lolo Kiko! The Filipinos called Pope Francis as “Lolo Kiko” or Grandpa Kiko while he visited the Philippines in 2015.
The Philippian priest handed over the gift to the Pope after a brief talk with the clergy. Father Young recollected that he was so happy that the Pope even remembers the Philippines and even the Lolo Kiko.
Father Young who now studies canon law at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross expressed joy over his meeting with the Pope. He said, “the feeling is so light and happy and it lingers as a lifetime memory.” The doll was made by one his friend in Manila.
