Muslims join Catholics at the altar remembering Father Hamel

Tue humanity goes beyond religion, extending welcoming hands. The gesture of Muslims in France, who attended Mass to express their solidarity with Catholics, touched the hearts of all. The Muslims were empathizing with the Catholics on the murder of French priest Fr. Jacques Hamel, who was a victim to the Islamic State terrorism.

Moved by the gesture, Archbishop Dominique Lebrun of Rouen said: “We’re very touched. It’s an important gesture of fraternity.” “They’ve told us, and I think they’re sincere, that it’s not Islam which killed Jacques Hamel” he added.

The exemplary gesture was initiated by the French Center for Muslim Worship and supported by the Italian Muslim Religious Community.

Fr. Jacques Hamel was killed by two Islamic State terrorists amidst the Holy Mass in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, a suburb of Rouen on 26th July.
