migrant-child-dead-beach-turkeyTaking to heart the plea of Pope Francis to adopt migrant families, Vatican has set an example for the whole Europe to follow. Pope Francis assured that two Vatican parishes will provide shelter for the refugee family. Following the example fo Vatican, all the European Churches will take in migrant families as part of the lead-in to the upcoming Jubilee of Mercy.

Pope Francis had made a request to the parishes, to religious communities, to monasteries and sanctuaries of all Europe to express the concreteness of the Gospel through providing a shelter for a family of refugees.

Pope recalled that God asks us to be neighbors to the smallest and abandoned to give them a concrete hope. “God wants us to provide shelter for those thousands of refugees who travel in highly unsafe conditions with the hope of beginning a new life,” Pope said in his message.

His remark came in response to the news of the hundreds of thousands of refugees flooding from the Middle East and Africa. The number of people migrating to Germany and Austria on foot from hungry has increased in an alarming rate.
