Catholic school students in Thornlands were trying to add colour to those living in the dark shade of poverty by helping them. They had the tradition of helping out the poor ahead of Christmas. This year too, they had not deviated from their tradition.
Carmel College in Thornlands this year helped out hundreds of disadvantaged Brisbane families by donating more than 150 hampers. Those hampers were given to the St Vincent de Paul Society. They would later supply it to the deserving ones.
“Students go that ‘extra mile’ and better their donations from the year before,” said Mr Edwards, the principal of the College.
