RV13234_ArticoloThe Church in Kenya launched a National Lenten campaign with a huge procession through the town of Ngong to the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Worker.

The procession was attended by the Bishop of Ngong Diocese, John Oballa Owaa; officials of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and representatives from the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA). Many Kenyan government officials too had participated in the procession.

The Chairman of the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission of KCCB, Bishop Cornelius Korir said in his homily that Kenya is blessed with its citizens and leaders. He asked the need to end corruption in the country.

The Bishop also asked the Kenyan citizens to be in fellowship and solidarity with their brothers and sisters who were less fortunate.
