“Investigation of Indian nun’s rape case was mishandled”

nunIndia’s National Human Rights Commission has come up with grave criticism on the investigation procedure on the rape of a Catholic nun. The nun, who belonged to a Salesian congregation, was raped on 20th June by two masked men.

The Human Rights Commission alleged that the investigation team miserably failed in securing the crime scene and in examining possible physical evidence that could have helped identify the assailants.

The commission lashed out to the state government of Chhattisgarh that it failed to offer the victim compensation, legal aid or psychological counseling as required under Indian law..
