India gets a new bishop for Satna Diocese

Joseph-Kodakallil-assign-as-Bishop-of-Satna-in-MPFather Joseph Kodakallil was appointed as the new bishop of Satna, a Syro-Malabarese diocese in India by Pope Francis. Fr. Kodakallil is the third Bishop of Satna diocese, succeeding Mar Mathew Vaniakizhakel. Satna diocese is a part of Madhya Pradesh, a state in Central India. Of late, Father Joseph Kodakallil has been a serving at St. Vincent’s Cathedral as the pastor.

Born in 1965 on December 18 at Upputhode, Kerala, India, Fr. Kodakallil had his clerical studies in St Thomas Apostolic Seminary, Vadavathoor and was ordained a preist in 1991. He had his doctorate from Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome..
