God waits patiently, till the last moment for our conversion, said Pope Francis to the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square. The Pope advised the faithful about the need for a sudden conversion since the God is waiting for us.
Quoting the Gospel where Jesus corrects the idea that God punishes sin with tragedies the Pope said, people have a natural tendency to ‘unload’ certain disgraces and sorrowful happenings, to victims, or even on God himself. In addition to it, the Pontiff reminded them of His patience too.
The Pope in his message connected the sinful life of faithful to the tree that repeatedly showed sterility. “But, fortunately for us, Jesus is like a farmer who, with limitless patience, still obtains a concession for the fruitless vine. ‘Sir, leave it for this year also … it may bear fruit in the future,” the Pope added.
“He saves us because he has great patience with us,” Francis said. “And this is his mercy. It’s never too late to convert, but it’s urgent. It’s now! Let us begin today.”
