Paris: In connection with the series of Islamic terror attacks that shook France since last year, the country’s bishops had offered all Masses on the Feast of the Assumption for France.
The president of the French Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Georges Pontier of Marseille had noted how the August 15 Solemnity of the Assumption had always hold a special place in the heart of Catholics.
“In this celebration of hope, we suggest that the general intercessions of the Mass that day mention this intention,” the Archbishop put forward his decision and sought the opinion of others. Everybody agreed unanimously.
“May God bless our country in the trials that she is enduring,” the archbishop said, referring to the dangerous wave of terrorist attack.
