An Indian priest abducted in Yemen is still safe in terrorist’s custody and the efforts to release him has reached its final stage, a government official in Kerala, India had informed on Wednesday.
The official said that the Catholic priest, Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil is safe and he had spoken with his Church authorities.
“It is now clear that the priest is not in the custody of the Islamic State (IS) terror group but with anti-government forces in Yemen. Last minute efforts are underway and his release is imminent,” the official told.
In March a group of armed militants encroached into an old people’s home run by the nuns of Missionaries of Charity and attacked its inmates. 16 people including four nuns lost their lives in the terrorist’s unexpected attack.
