Britain’s oldest nun dies

Screen-Shot-2016-02-12-at-16.35.20-800x500Britain’s oldest nun, Sister Anne de Clerque-Wissocq de Sousberghe, died at the age of 111.

Sister Anne, entered the Society of the Helpers of the Holy Souls in 1929. She helped to create a new form of catechesis following the Second Vatican Council. She penned a bestselling guide to catechesis, Tell My People, and in 1966 she found a national catechetical centre in London called Corpus Christi College.

She came from a well-to-do family in Belgium and reached Holy Helpers at the age of 25.
