CEO7wLLWAAAT597The Archdiocese of Seoul named 48 young students as ‘young missionaries of mercy’ with a mission to convert themselves and also to share the happiness of the Gospel with their peers.

The “young missionaries of mercy” assigned by the Department for vocations and for the youth in the Archdiocese of Seoul would help their peers in the difficult circumstances of their life, for study, human, material and spiritual difficulties. The missionaries were students studying in middle and high school classes.

35 representatives of Catholic youth movement and 13 delegates of the Korea Young Catholic Students belonged to the tagline of “young missionaries of mercy.” They received the mandate to be “young missionaries of mercy” from Bishop Peter Chung Soon-taek.

“Young people will be an example of faith for their peers”, said Fr. Stephan Kim Sung-hoon, head of the Youth Department. “We believe there is a big difference between the preaching that a priest can do and words that a friend can say,” he added.
