During his two-day visit to the Connecticut, Archbishop Jean-Clément Jeanbart of Aleppo shared his feelings with the 400 faithful at the historic New Haven church. The Archbishop said that persecution was long been part of Syrian Catholic history. But genocide and civil war worsened the condition of the wealthy city of Aleppo.

Archbishop Jeanbart exhorted the faithful to “pray that the Lord may give us a civic state like yours. We need to be like America… free to be Christian, free to be Muslim, free to choose [our faith].”
